This group is for members who are interested in travel to Scotland. I had to start a Scotland group, as I'm Scottish, although I currently live in the north east of England. Scotland is a really beautiful country, in spite of the unreliable weather.

I've written guides to several destinations in Scotland. I'm amazed by how much I discovered about Scotland when researching for my guides. I visited areas that I thought I know and found out that I'd only scratched the surface.

*Aberdeenshire I often think of Aberdeenshire as the neglected north east of Scotland. it's so beautiful with mountains, castles and a beautiful coastline.
* Angus The county of Angus lies to the north of Dundee. My favourite place there is the Angus Glens.
* Dundee I was born in Dundee. The city has undergone a successful regeneration since the 1980s and is great for a weekend break.
* East Lothian East Lothian is overshadowed by it's illustrious neighbour Edinburgh. It's a lovely area to visit with interesting coastal villages and towns such as North Berwick and Prestonpans.
* Edinburgh - Off the beaten track There's a lot more to do and see than the Castle and the Festival in Edinburgh. I've written about some activities which are free of charge.
* Fife The county of Fife is between Dundee to the north and Edinburgh to the south. It's best known for St Andrews.
* Perthshire I love Perthshire, it's so beautiful with towns like Crieff and Pitlochry.
* Scottish Borders The Scottish Borders is another area often overlooked by visitors, full of old trees, abbeys and rivers.
* South Queensferry South Queensferry is a town close to Edinburgh which sits under the famous Forth Rail Bridge.
* Stirling Stirling is Scotland's newest city. I lived in the area for many years. It's a great touring base as it lies in the centre of Scotland.
